After a week of use of the FR245M I’m experiencing battery life way below the claimed 6/7 days in smartwatch mode. Currently a full charge with no recorded activities, no music playback and observing some of Garmin’s battery saving advice such as using a watch face with no moving seconds and turning off pulse Ox and notifications is getting me just under 48 hours before running down to 0%. My forerunner 935 does all I need, but the battery is aging. Have to charge every 4 or 5 days and cannot go on a long run when battery is below 30% (or below 40% for a decent bike ride) I plan to do as long as possible with my watch, so I buy a watch with the largest battery so I still have okayish battery life after a few years. Specifications. Battery type. Rechargeable, built-in lithium-ion battery. Battery life. Up to 14 days for smartwatch mode with smart notifications and wrist heart rate. Up to 20 hr. in GPS mode. Operating temperature range. From -20º to 60ºC (from -4º to 140ºF) Charging temperature range. The problem is, if you ask 10 people with battery issues with their garmin devices, you get at least 11 ‘solutions’, and none work in your case. I sport between 5 and 8 hours a week. My watch is almost 6 years old and still does what I want it to do. Only have to charge it every 4 or 5 days. I can live with that. Life Expectancy for the Rechargeable Battery in My Garmin Device | Garmin Customer Support. FREE GROUND SHIPPING ON ORDERS $25 AND UP. Garmin Support Center. If yes, the battery would last less than 5 days (without any activities). This is further a problem if you spend a lot of time outside (auto brightness can increase the brightness outside and reduce the battery life quicker). 2) Pulse Ox definitely consumes a lot of battery, and if activated for sleep it is almost 7-8 hours/day. The Venu 2 comes in three sizes. The battery life from most to least goes: 45mm, 40mm, 43mm. This is because the 45mm and the 43mm have the same size screen, whilst the 40mm has a smaller lower resolution screen. Venu 2 comes in 2 sizes, 45mm (more battery life) and 40mm (less battery life). Battery: Long battery life for days of activity or races. The Garmin Forerunner 45 has a rechargeable lithium battery that can last up to seven days in normal watch mode and up to 13 hours continuously when in GPS mode. 13 hours in GPS mode means the FR45 won't die on you in the middle of a marathon, 50K, or possibly even longer races.
